My Story
I'm Camilla, a passionate music educator living on Bundjalung County in Northern NSW Australia. I have created Music Teaching Central (MTC), to help isolated people access quality music education and to help primary classroom teachers in planning and presenting quality music lessons. I have experience in teaching privately, in High Schools and Primary schools, as well as Head of Music for a Steiner school. I am a part of the National Mentor Music Program, teaching teachers how to be music teachers. I'm very passionate in helping to create quality music accessible to all.
I grew up in a musical household where my daily focus was to practice music. I spent 8 years in the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra's and participated in school bands and choirs.
After leaving school, I performed in a duo and studied sound engineering and joined my first band. I travelled the world songwriting and performed in bands around San Francisco and recorded my first E.P. in Los Altos California.
I then returned to Australia where I studied a Diploma in Voice in Lismore. I then went on and studied a Degree in Singer-Songwriting and Degree in Education at QUT in Brisbane.
I have performed in many bands and Orchestra's bringing real life experience to Music Teaching Central's Education. I still practice being a stage hand an M.C. voluntarily at local festivals and perform my songs locally as well. I have recorded Children's Music, Yadaki (Digderidoo) and Techno Music, and my own songs.
I have spent over 20 years teaching privately and in schools in NSW. I was mentored in the Steiner way of delivering music curriculum, so I feel I now have a very eclectic bag of ways to help reach anyone with the desire of understanding music.
